Sixth Form Centre
Where do you see yourself in a year’s time, or even in three years time?

Choosing the right courses and the right place to study next year are probably the most important decisions you will make during the next few months.
Idsall has an outstanding reputation as a place that offers students excellent standards in education and a high quality environment within which to develop their personal skills. Being a student at Idsall means having the very best support to help you turn your hopes into possibilities and to make those possibilities into realities.

The Sixth Form at Idsall is a natural progression for many of our own Year 11 students who wish to continue their studies at advanced level in a college environment where they feel known, valued and well supported.
An ever increasing number of students from other schools are joining us in Year 12 and as a result the Sixth Form has now grown to fill its capacity of just over two hundred students. Rather than expand further, we have chosen to make offers only to those students who meet our high expectations in terms of attitude and involvement in community life as well as in high academic achievement. This means that you can be sure of working with others who share your own commitment to make the most of every opportunity and to achieve the very best examination results.

Financial Support
-
16-19 Bursary Scheme - The Government provides a £180 million bursary scheme to help the most vulnerable 16-19 year-olds continue in full-time education and the money is distributed by colleges. The scheme is made up of two parts: the most vulnerable 16-19 year-olds will be given guaranteed bursaries of £1,200 a year and schools and colleges will also have the discretion to award bursaries to support any student who faces genuine financial barriers to participation such as costs of transport, food or equipment. Please click Sixth Form Transport and Bursary Letter and see the attached forms below for further details.
- Student Finance Information - Going to university or college is one of the biggest investments you can make. Do you know how much it is going to cost you and what help is available? The links below will help you find the information you need. Most students do not need to pay any tuition fees up-front, as these are covered by a Tuition Fee Loan. There are also Maintenance Grants and loans to help with living costs, such as rent, food, books, transport and entertainment.
